Start with the niche-specific decision
The decision is not whether skincare can generate attention. It is whether this specific product, creator and use case can be presented truthfully, fulfilled reliably and measured economically. Start with a skincare SKU, the actual listing and the relevant evidence: ingredients, directions, warnings, texture, package size, substantiation, SKU classification. Resolve missing information before the next handoff.
Category and claim boundaries
Use accurate cosmetic descriptions and evidence-backed claims. Avoid edited transformations, guaranteed outcomes or medical language. Sunscreens and products making therapeutic claims may follow different category and regulatory requirements from ordinary cosmetics; check the exact SKU locally. A creator must not claim personal results they did not experience.
Procedure 01
Write sample eligibility rules
Approve samples using fit and capacity rather than arbitrary reach. Apply this to the actual skincare SKU and preserve the evidence rather than copying another brand's outcome.
- Define evidence of category fit and content quality.
- Set internal stock and budget limits for approvals.
- Document exception reasons and avoid claiming these are platform thresholds.
Done means: Sample decision rubric and budget owner.
Failure to catch: Treating follower count as proof of selling ability.
Procedure 02
Build a follow-up sequence
Follow up without disregarding consent. Apply this to the actual skincare SKU and preserve the evidence rather than copying another brand's outcome.
- Set internal reminders based on capacity and channel rules.
- Add new useful information rather than repeating pressure.
- Stop on decline, opt-out or exhausted sequence.
Done means: Follow-up schedule with stop conditions.
Failure to catch: Contacting someone indefinitely.
Procedure 03
Confirm delivery and next steps
Support posting without inventing obligations. Apply this to the actual skincare SKU and preserve the evidence rather than copying another brand's outcome.
- Check actual carrier delivery status.
- Send the current brief and offer assistance.
- Restate only the timing already accepted or required by the sample program.
Done means: Delivery and support record linked to accepted terms.
Failure to catch: A delivery notification becomes a new contract.
Use this operating worksheet
Create one row for each product, creator or asset under review. Use the fields below, retain the original source, and assign a reviewer. Empty evidence is a blocker, not a completed check. Revisit the record when the product, claim, price, terms or placement changes.
- cohort
- fit evidence
- SKU
- cost
- delivery
- accepted timing
- status
Scenario to resolve: Samples go to creators who cannot use the product honestly. This is an illustrative operational failure, not a reported client case. Record the cause, contain the impact, and verify the correction before scaling.
Measure the decision, not just the activity
An approval check needs documented approval; a sample workflow needs traceable delivery; a creative test needs the exact asset and observation window. Keep forecasts separate from measured results. If the test produces orders, use settled revenue and consistent cost treatment, not views or gross sales alone. Wait for a sufficiently mature reporting window and label any refund or attribution uncertainty.
Do not scale while a claim, product link, stock issue or rights gap remains unresolved. The next cohort should inherit the corrected brief and worksheet, not repeat the first cohort's mistake. Set your own capacity and cost guardrails from real pilot data; no daily creator count or revenue outcome is guaranteed.
